ICR = lithium cobalt oxide cylindrical cell

• I = lithium ion
• C =cobalt oxide cathode
• R = round cell type
• Also Know As: LiCoO2 or LCO or Li-cobalt

UnProtected versions of these should not be used with cheap chargers(without safety protections) or in unprotected mods unless they have the protection circuits built into the mod or battery. They can fail and due so explosively. They do work well in regulated mods like eVic, SMOK SID, Vamo

Advantages / Disadvantages

These will often have higher capacities (mAh rating) then other batteries, cheaper cost, but they are not as safe and often do not exceed a 5amp drain rating and not suitable for sub-ohm applications

IMR = lithium manganese oxide cylindrical cell

• I = lithium ion
• M =manganese oxide cathode
• R = round cell type
• Also Known As: LiMn2O4 or LMO or Li-Manganese

These are considered a bit safer due to this specific chemistry and High drain versions of these batteries can be used in unprotected and mechanical mods with diligent care not to exceed the amp rating of the battery. When they do fail it is less dramatic and explosive compared to the ICR chemistry.

Advantages / Disadvantages

These will often have higher amp rating(high drain) 10amp or higher then other batteries, more expensive cost and usually less capacity(mAh), safer

INR = lithium iron phosphate cylindrical cell

• I = lithium ion
• N =nickel/manganese oxide cathode
• R = round cell type
• Also Known As: LiNiMnCoO2 or NMC

Often considered a hybrid of ICR and IMR because they have a safer chemistry then ICR with a higher amp(high drain) and higher capacity(mAh).

Please note there is no 'Safe' battery and care must be taken when charging and using all batteries. You must make sure you are using the proper charger for the type of battery you are charging. You must also make sure you are using the correct battery for the application you are using
