More taxes..

NJ Vapers:

In case you haven't heard they are trying to pass a legislation to tax E-Cigarettes and e-Liquid in the same class as cigarettes so that $10- $20 dollar bottle of e-liquid your now vaping will be $80-$100 if this legislation is allowed to pass.

Why is it wrong? The original cigarette tax was designed to force reduction of smoking where it hurts most your wallet. The justification was that it was costing tax payer millions of dollar's in health care because of the many illnesses originating from smoking. Many of these illnesses were proven to be directly related to smoking and we were all forced to grin and bare it because we knew they were at least partially correct. There is no smoking gun this time just greed and panic by your government on the loss of a huge amount of revenue that grows bigger and bigger each day as smokers transition to the much cheaper and reasonably taxed Electronic Cigarettes. Its not fair so don't let them get away with it this time

If you haven't already attended one or both of the North Jersey events, You should go to Trenton tomorrow and/or Westampton on Wednesday.

Speaking slots for tomorrow are closed, but you can speak at a third Assembly hearing scheduled for next Monday -- http://lis.njleg.state.nj.us/15budget/default.asp

Please note that in the State of Washington, over 70 e-cigarette vendors and vapers turned out with just 4 hours notice for a hearing on a tax. It will be a sad statement if we have only have 5 or 10 people in the room tomorrow with several weeks of notice. It will send the signal to legislators that we can be walked over and raped with ridiculous taxes without any justification.

Today the Assembly Budget Committee held a hearing on Christie's 2015 budget. One vaper and four business owners testified

The good news -- the committee chairman has used e-cigarettes and the vice-chair made a statement about how this tax may need to be reconsidered.

The bad news -- It is rumored that the Christie administration is digging their heels in and will continue to push for this tax, whatever it may be.

There are still open slots left for Wednesday's hearing in Westampton you should register to testify on this important event if you care about what happens to your rights Vape without being robbed of your hard earned money.
